Beach Week

Myrtle Beach, SC. This week has been full of memory-making, mostly good. I've been at the beach with my husband, children, grandparents, aunt & uncle, and cousins. We did quite a bit of shopping. I'm glad I left empty space in the suitcases on our way here because we are going home with quite a bit more stuff than we brought. I've got school uniforms for the kids and a new laptop for me (yay!!!) among other things.

Yesterday I was rockin' the boogie board. We had some rough waters. The current was so strong I could hardly lift my legs to walk. But I caught some awesome waves; what a rush! :) My legs are sore today, but it was totally worth it.

I really am sad to be leaving tomorrow. I have never enjoyed the beach so much as I did this week. I regret we didn't spend more time on the sand and less time shopping. An annual beach trip may be a necessity from now on. Next year we will probably go to Gulf Shores or Orange Beach, AL. We had originally planned to go there this year but changed our destination when the oil spill happened.

We have some big changes happening next week. We arrive home from vacation, Andy leaves for an out-of-state work trip for a few weeks, I start a brand new job in a totally different department working full-time, the kids go back to school, and I go back to school. I'm not looking forward to weathering those changes by myself. ::sigh::

I wish I could stay at the beach forever.

I thought you were done with school. :-P The beach sounds lovely! Maybe if you all ever go to Myrtle Beach again, we'll hop down there, too!
